Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro, KY is proud to announce the return of UMP DIRTcar Series Open Wheel Modified racing on a weekly basis starting Sunday night June 28th.

The return of the UMP mods will mark the first time in over 5 years the fire breathing, high horsepowered monsters have run on a weekly basis at the newly resurfaced 3/8 mile speed plant in Owensboro, KY.  Track lease holder and Promoter Scott Slaton says he is looking forward to having this added attraction to his line up and the late start to bringing them back in 09 was because of the major resurfacing project that took place over the winter. “We wanted to make sure the track was going to come around where we could get this deal done before bringing these guys back for our fans” Slaton said.

The UMP Mods will be battling for $600 to win each Sunday night with a couple of special events on tap during the season as well. Having a Sunday night track in this region to run at weekly will be a big plus for the teams trying to maintain UMP DIRTcar Series National and Regional points.

For the racers who have not attended Windy Hollow for a couple of years they will notice a pair of items right off the bat. New lighting was installed to the 3/8 mile track last year which has improved the visibility around the track 110% as well as a very racy surface thanks to George, Mark and David Ballard of RA Alexander & Sons in Owensboro. The place has gotten a major clean up and things are on the up and up for Windy Hollow Speedway.

Windy Hollow Speedway and Diamond J Trucking present the 1st annual Diamond J Trucking Extreme Modified Mania August 15th and 16th 2009 at Windy Hollow Speedway.

$5,000 to win for the UMP Limited Modifieds in a 30 lap feature event!

Gates will open on Saturday August 15th at 3pm with Hot Laps, Group Qualifying and Heat Races for the Limited Mods. (Support class TBD)

Sunday gates will open at 4 with all divisions racing including Consi's and A Main for the limited modifieds.

General admission both days will be $8.00 for 13 and over and under 12 is free

Pit Admission will be $25.00 each day

Limited Modified car and driver entry is $100 ( This is a 2 day pass for car and driver, Single day passes will not be offered)

UMP Limited Modified Rules WILL APPLY with the exception of the following:
If you run a GM602 Crate Engine you may run a 750 carb with 1 11/16 base plate (will be gauged)
If running a GM602 Crate Engine you will be allowed a Bert, Brinn or Falcon Tranny
