2008 CRUISER CLASS RULES 

IF IT DOESN’T SAY IT; YOU CAN’T DO IT.

1. Any 6 or 8 cylinder car is acceptable providing it meets safety requirements. 

2. No convertibles, trucks, or station wagons permitted or 4 wheel drives allowed. 

3. All glass must be removed and replaced with screen.

4. No high performance or race parts permitted. Only racing seat and belts may be of performance parts. 

5. All doors must be welded, chained or bolted shut.

6. No modifications to body, suspension or engine. Fender wells may be trimmed for tire clearance. At least 1/2 of the rear Inner fender wells must remain in place! Head and tail lights must be removed. No third brake lights. Stock bumpers with small nurf bar allowed.  No mirrors. Bumper must be chained to frame.

7. All cars must have number on both doors and on the top (18" or larger) and must be very visible. 

8. Locked rear ends allowed. 

9. All tires must be steel belted radials and same size on all four wheels (no stagger) and must be 14" or 15".( No grooving of tires) 

10. 7" rim maximum. Racing wheels allowed, must be stock offset (1" lug nuts on all wheels), no aluminum wheels allowed. Sway bar optional. (No adjusting).

11. Tow chain on front and back of car is MANDATORY.  Bumper must be chained to frame. 

12. All Cruisers will be inspected by officials.  No claiming. 

13. Shock must be in stock location. No racing shocks.

14. Bead locks optional. No spoilers!!!!  No quick steer!!!!! 

15. Any production radiator permitted can use aluminum radiator.

16. No truck manifolds or center dumps.

17. No added weight anywhere on car.

18. All cars must weigh 3400 lbs.

ENGINES

1. 361 C.I. maximum & bore not to exceed .060.

2. Stock camshafts for make and model of car no more that 410 lift including rocker arms.

3. Flat top or dish pistons, 4 valve relief Pistons ONLY.      5.7 rods allowed

4. Crankshaft --- No lightweight cranks 48 lbs minimum and must retain stock flange appearance (no round flanges)

5. 3.48 stroke only

6. No Holley carburetors allowed. Quadrajets ONLY.

7. K&N replacements filters are allowed.

8. V8'S no fuel injectors, no throttle body and no vortex heads.

9. If you run an electric fan must be stock one only.

10. One piece rear main seal motor allowed in Chevy's but must run 2 piece rear main adapter.

11. No screw in studs -- 1.5 rockers only -- stud girdles allowed

12. GM OEM Open chamber heads (for example #993,#487,#882) No porting or polishing (NONE) 1.94 & 1.5 valves only -- stock diameter springs --#601 heads ok

13. Transmission must be stock. O.E.M. automatic with stock O.E.M. torque convertor 11" min.

GAS TANK INSTALLATION

1. The stock tank must be removed and replaced with a fuel cell. Fuel cell must be in a metal case. No exceptions.

Tank must be secured by at least 2 straps over the tank. must be 1 1/2 X 1 1/8" strips.

2. No holes allowed in trunk lid. One fuel tank only.

3. The fuel line must exit from the top of the tank. No fuel lines in the driver's compartment.

4. A complete firewall must be seal the trunk area from the driver's compartment.  No aluminum inside the car for front or rear firewalls.

5. Installation subject to the inspection by the technical inspector.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

1. All drivers must wear helmets, seat belts, long sleeve shirts and long pants. 

2. Made for racing window nets mandatory.

3. Must have screen in place of windshield. With 3 or 4 3/8 minimum bar behind screen.                      

4. All cars must have a working fire extinguisher in car. 

5. Rear seat, headliner and carpet must be removed. 

ROLL BAR & CAGE INSTALLATION

1. Must be built from steel tubing (no pipe of any kind) 1 1/2 O.D. x .095" wall thickness. All tubing must be welded with ARC, MIG or TIG. Full 4 post roll cage with at least 1 horizontal bar behind driver from left to right, in the main roll bar a diagonal brace from top to bottom in the main roll bar, a minimum of 3 horizontal door bars in passenger side, 2 braces from top of main roll bar down to trunk floor (behind rear axle), a horizontal bar from left to right between front cage post at dash height, and 2 braces or snout hoop forward from dash brace to front subframe horns. Other bars or braces to protect radiators, etc. are allowable, but must remain inside body lines.

CRUISER PROTEST

1. $250.00 cash tear down rule.  Any driver is subject to protest by any other driver in the same division if said driver is on the lead lap. Protest must be within 15 minutes from the end of feature race.  $250.00 cash must be paid to the track manager. Protest pertains to carburetor, intake, heads, exhaust and top of piston stroke. The track will retain $50.00 of tear down fee. Winner of protest will receive $200.00 cash. If you refuse to tear down all points and money is lost for that night. The track will keep $50.00 regardless of the outcome.                                                              

POINTS

1. All points will go to the driver. No teams allowed.

INSPECTION

1. Refusal to permit inspection will result in immediate disqualification.
